Starting out as an apprentice cabinet maker in 1941, Jim moved to Ontario, Canada after WW2. Here he continued in construction until he bought a farm and built the farmhouse from the ground up almost single handedly. Having raised a big family and succeeding in his business goals, Jim retired in the mid 90's.

A full home refurbishment typically includes renovations across multiple areas of the property, such as rewiring, plumbing, new flooring, painting, and sometimes structural changes. It can also involve kitchen and bathroom redesigns, insulation improvements, and general decor upgrades to increase the property’s value and efficiency.
The timeline for a full home refurbishment depends on the scope of work, the size of the property, and the specific renovations being carried out. On average, a complete home refurbishment can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. This can vary depending on factors like planning permissions, availability of materials, and the complexity of the project.
The cost of a full home refurbishment depends on several factors, including the size of the home, the quality of materials, and the extent of the renovations. Generally, it can range from £20,000 for smaller projects to upwards of £100,000 for larger, high-end refurbishments. It’s important to get a detailed quote to understand the full costs involved.
Planning permission is not always required for internal refurbishments unless structural changes or extensions are involved. However, if you are altering the external appearance, such as adding extensions or changing windows, you may need to apply for planning permission. It’s best to consult with a professional to ensure compliance with local building regulations.
